Materials for Sheet Metal Fabrication & CNC Machining

MATERIALS

Material selection is reviewed together with geometry, tolerance, forming, welding, finishing, corrosion requirements, cost and assembly. LIUMAI confirms final suitability against the drawing and application instead of treating a generic material list as automatic approval.

Common Materials We Review

Carbon / Coated Steel

Carbon steel, coated sheet and galvanized sheet are reviewed against forming, welding, finish and service requirements.

Stainless Steel

Projects are reviewed by required grade, corrosion environment, surface requirement and manufacturing route.

Aluminum

Alloy, temper, thickness, machining or forming requirements and finish are reviewed together.

Copper & Brass

Projects are reviewed according to geometry, process, sourcing and quantity.

Die-Cast Materials

Die-cast metal projects can be reviewed as extended or partner-supported manufacturing according to the drawing and specification.

Other Engineering Metals

Other materials can be reviewed against drawing, sourcing and process requirements before quotation.

Material Decisions Affect the Whole Process

Grade, thickness and temper can change bend behavior, welding route, machining time, corrosion performance, finish options and cost. These relationships are reviewed before quotation when they materially affect production.

Material Substitution & Cost Review

When function permits, engineering support can review material alternatives together with thickness, tolerance, forming, welding and finishing requirements. No substitution is made without customer approval.

What to Specify on the RFQ

State the material grade or applicable standard, thickness or stock form, quantity, finish, corrosion or service environment, certification or traceability requirements if any, and whether an approved equivalent may be proposed.
